Cancellation Policy
Many times I leave the house by 6:00 A.M. and do not return until after midnight, to call your house before or after these hours would be rude and unnecessary. Due to everyone’s varying schedules it is crucial for me to know in advance about cancellations. This way I can offer other students make-up lessons. Flexibility in scheduling is very important to the student who has an audition coming up or who has a conflict with another important activity they are involved with. Obviously there are many things to be taken care of to keep my service improving.
Therefore:
If you do not cancel at least 48 hours before your lesson you will be charged. This is not a ploy to take your money! If we can find a mutual time that week, there is an option of a make up lesson.
48 hours notice is required for E-mail/text message cancellations. If you do not receive a confirmation from me with in 24 hours, if not sooner, of you sending me a message you need to call me on the phone. There could be an e-malfunction. We all know there are many variables that could bring down e-communication at any time.
72 hours notice is required if you cancel due to a previously scheduled event. (Concert, field trip, sporting event, doctors appointments family trip , etc.)
48 hours notice is required if your lesson falls on a day when school is closed or has an altered schedule. You must make your own call so I can communicate with you personally. Do not assume that because other people have lessons the same day you might, that I am aware of the change or how it effects us.
Of course if a cancellation occurs due to illness you will not be charged. You still need to contact me with in the week, so that I know what happened and to confirm our next appointment.
Any time you are going to cancel even if it does not fall within the time constraints you still need to call. The effort to cancel as soon as possible and the reason for canceling also deserve some flexibility on my part. There is only one way to reach me for all cancellations and communication. These guidelines will make scheduling much more flexible for all involved. They have been developed during the past forty-three years of private instruction.
